Actually, around 60 pages is ideal for putting an idea across. It’s perfect for busy business people who will be much happier absorbing your information in a short format. You only need to have 30,000 words approximately to create a substantial book.
Even better – break your knowledge down into a tips booklet. With just 3,000-5,000 words you can put together a great little booklet that showcases your expertise and give you something to give away to potential clients – or sell online, bringing in additional income.
What a perfect lead magnet for your website as well – create your booklet as a PDF and give it away in exchange for an email address.
Tell them what you know
On the copywriting page, I mention the ‘curse of knowledge’. It’s much too easy to assume that the learning and expertise we’ve accumulated over the years isn’t really of any value – that it’s common knowledge. But what you know is exactly what other people are trying to learn.
And even if other people are writing about the same subject, you will have your own unique take on the subject, that is going to appeal to someone!
